Livall BH60SE vs Livall MT1

It seems that nowadays, every product is a smart one. From smartphones, smart TVs, smart watches, and now smart cycling helmets. If you’re a fan of cycling, this is good news because now you can listen to the music while cycling.

When it comes to smart cycling helmets, Livall is one of the best brands in the business that you should definitely try. The problem is finding the right model for your needs. In this article, we’re going to review two of Livall’s models that offer a lot of features but are sold at affordable prices.

Those two models are Livall BH60SE and Livall MT1. Both of them are very similar in features and sold below $200. So, without further ado, let’s start this comparison and find out who comes on top.

Livall BH60SE Review

Livall BH60SE is currently priced at $130 on Amazon and it holds a rating of 4 stars out of 5 from 20 customer reviews. This helmet fits most heads size 21.65 to 24 inches. Livall BH60SE meets both CPSC and CE standards for safety.

The main features of this helmet are LED lighting that’s noticeable from quite a long distance, SOS alert that comes in handy in the case of accidents, Walkie-Talkie that uses built-in wind proof microphone and advanced Bluetooth speaker, as well as the Smart Bling Jet Controller that allows you to control all of the features of this smart helmet.

Now let’s break down those features one by one. Let’s not forget that the Livall BH60SE is a crash helmet. In terms of safety, this helmet sports an eye-catching rear lighting and triggers an SOS text message in the event of a crash. You can send and receive calls from a linked phone, plus built-in speakers offer music on the move without headphones. So, it’s pretty safe.

Build quality wise, there nothing special about it. It’s a typical polycarbonate shell over compressed polystyrene, though it feels sturdy and well-made enough. You can find a sweat or comfort pad with a decent thickness, complete with size adjustment and comfortable chin straps to avoid ear discomfort. The overall design isn’t bad. If you’re okay with the pointy bits at the rear, then it isn’t bad at all.

Other features work quite well, but not without drawbacks. Music quality is okay, albeit lacking in bass, calls can only be done at low speeds for many reasons, and the remote is convenient. As for the crash detection and messaging features, they are flawless, and the lighting is bright enough at night.

All in all, the BH60SE’s music and phone integration is great for commuters, and the SOS feature works well, but wind noise in the mic limits its all-round appeal. Overall, Livall BH60SE is far from perfect. But with only $130, you can get a smart helmet with more features than other helmets in a similar price range.

Livall MT1 Review

Livall MT1 is currently unavailable on Amazon, but it’s usually priced at $79, cheaper than the BH60SE model. It holds a rating of 3.7 starts out of 5 from 99 customer reviews. It fits the heads size 22.83 to 24.4 inches and has passed EN 1078, CPSC 1203 safety certification.

In terms of features, this one is quite similar to Livall BH60SE. It comes with smart flashlights that are noticeable from quite a long distance, SOS alert that sends signal in times of accidents, a Walkie-Talkie that uses built-in windproof microphone and advanced Bluetooth speaker, as well as the Smart Bling Jet Controller.

Right on the back of the helmet, you’ll find eight LED taillights and turn indicators. If safety is your concern, the taillights will give you a peace of mind on the road. No more guessing where the rider is in the middle of the night or in inclement weather. People around you will be able to spot you easily while wearing this helmet. Safety is longer a concern.

The helmet is also equipped with a Bluetooth speaker, which you can use to listen to your music out loud or for taking and making phone calls while you’re on the road. There is also an app which you can use to connect the helmet with the app and use all of its features. You can send SOS alerts to your registered emergency contacts anywhere and anytime. To do that, you can easily turn on emergency signals on the helmet.

On the handlebar, you can find a remote control called the Smart Bling Jet Controller. It does have a design patent certificate and is quite easy to use. This is what you use to take photos, answer calls, use the walkie-talkie functionality, control turn signals, and play music. This feature is also found on the BH60SE model.

Just like Livall BH60SE, this smart helmet is also designed mostly to protect you from accidents. So, the speaker is not that great for music and phone calls. But overall, Livall MT1 is a good smart helmet that keeps you safe while cycling, comes in with various features, and is sold at a very affordable price.

All in all, we think that the combination of these features dramatically increases road visibility and thus safety. The added functionalities like calls, SOS, and photos provide a lot of convenience. They increase safety too, given that you do not have to be entangled in cables while cycling.
